STIB, the public transport operator in Brussels, is leading the new-created company Belgian Mobility Card which is in charge to coordinate the national efforts for a unique transport ticket.

This STIB’s branch will try to harmonize the teleticketing systems of the four Belgian transport operators. The unique transport ticket will be based on Calypso, the technology already used by STIB’s MoBIB. Calypso has been chosen because of its security and its interoperability.

This operation was planned by STIB when they decided to create MoBIB. That’s why they chose a specific Data Model for the card to facilitate the implementation of SNCB, TEC and De Lijn’s specificities.
