The Executive Vice President and General Manager of Nokia has announced at the MobeyForum  the willingness of his company to launch new NFC compliant handsets in 2010. The NFC functionality will begin to be implemented in the Nokia's global Symbian portfolio. However, Anssi Vanjoki also specified that the decision to implement or not the technology will be taken according to market specificities. 

Nokia is evaluating the different approaches for the additional hardwares required for NFC to be secured: using the SIM card, using an NFC-enabled memory card or using a module embedded in the phone.
