The meeting was organized by CNA and M2M in Rabat and most of the local transport operators and transport authorities ( 30) were represented. The company M2M is in charge of the deployment of 12 million driving licences and green cards,  based on java cards, on the next four years including the personalisation the issuing and all the services around.

The main goal was to present Calypso and in particular the last evolution concerning the  Applet version which offer a great opportunity for integration of the transport application in the new electronic driving licences and green cards.

The presentation demonstrated that Calypso is the solution fully compatible with all the international standards which make possible to download it in a Java Card at any time of the cycle of its  life without modification of the operating system . The performance of the new Java cards is compatible with the requirements of the transport application ( transaction time less that 200 ms) .

From the beginning the choice of the Javacard was justified by the possibility to add new services in the support and in particular the transport and payment of tolls. In the same time there are lot of projects for improvement of the system of transport in Morocco including a tramway in Rabat this year and a tramway in Casablanca next year.

Morocco has a great opportunity with Calypso to offer the citizens the first intermodal  ticketing system  which allow to use a single support for driving a car and taking the tramway.

A new conference will be held in Casablanca in the end of June.
